    We start with real solar data for your location from NLR PVWatts v8, the public model that estimates output for any U.S. ZIP code.

    Run it through the canopy

    The Ray Rider canopy is a 0.3 kW system — three 100-watt panels at a 10° south tilt, with the standard 14% losses built in. That's your daily kilowatt-hours.

    Turn energy into miles

    We multiply by how far your cart travels per kWh — about 10.5 mi on lead-acid, 15 on lithium — for your extra miles per day, averaged across the year.

How accurate is this estimate?

It's a year-round daily average built on real solar data for your ZIP. Actual output shifts with weather, shade, and how you drive, so treat it as a typical day rather than a guarantee.

Why does battery type change the result?

Lithium batteries turn stored energy into distance more efficiently than lead-acid — about 15 miles per kWh versus 10.5. Same sun, more miles.

Does my cart model change the number?

Not the range estimate — that comes from your local sun and battery type. Your model determines fit, and every model in the list is a confirmed fit for the Ray Rider.

What's a realistic daily gain?

Most riders see roughly 8 to 20 extra miles a day, depending on location and battery. Sunnier states and lithium batteries land at the higher end.
